Art Books and Catalogues Curatorial Poetry Translation

Doug and Mike Starn: alleverythingthatisyou, 2006, Baldwin Gallery, Aspen

Drifts

The body stays the same
Only the face changes
Out the window all one

Can see is light, and that’s fine
Because when you look out
All you see are buildings

Maybe a bit of tree, light
Fades, then goes away
Snow goes away, sun, rain

The thought was being solo
For once not part of nexus
As animal knows itself alone

One closes one’s eyes for a
Second, and the world disappears
It’s dark out the window now
